초록

This chapter summarizes recent advances in the synthesis of 3D TiO<inf>2</inf>, focusing on porous and spherical TiO<inf>2</inf> with crystalline frameworks. Key synthesis strategies, including hard template, soft template, and self-template methods, are discussed. Special attention is given to hydrous TiO<inf>2</inf> colloidal spheres that represent a significant development in self-organization theory for inorganic materials and serve as versatile self-templates for the crystallization to mesoporous TiO<inf>2</inf> spheres with tunable structure. Additionally, the one-pot hydro/solvothermal synthesis of hierarchical TiO<inf>2</inf> spheres is addressed, with a particular emphasis on understanding the self-organization pathways, providing deep insights for the rational design of 3D TiO<inf>2</inf> assemblies with tailored textural properties. © 2026 WILEY-VCH GmbH.
