초록

This paper presents the characteristics of leakage currents flowing through ZnO surge arrester elements under the combined DC and 60 ㎐ AC voltages. In the low conduction region as well as in the high conduction region, the I-Vcurves under the combined DC and AC voltages lies between the pure DC and AC characteristics, and the cross-over phenomenon in both the I-V curves and R-V curves was observed. Behaviors of ZnO element leakage currents in the low voltage region are strongly dependent on the types of applied voltages. The capacitance of ZnO surge blocks is independent of the peak of applied voltage, but it is increasing with the voltage ratio.
