초록

Nanoparticles of conducting polymer were prepared with poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) con-taining hydroxyl groups as a polymeric stabilizer by the oxidative dispersion polymerization in acidic aqueous media. The obtained PAPVA particles have a uniform nanometer size and a spherical shape. However, the PAPVA cannot be directly adapted to ER system without control-ling conductivity because its conductivity is too high. Thereby, acetalization of the PAPVA method is adopted as a substitute method for dedoping with suitable polymeric stabilizer such as poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) which was used for controlling PAPVA/PVB particle size. The morphology of particles was studied through scanning electron microscope (SEM) and trans-mission electron microscope (TEM). The PAPVA/PVB suspension in silicone oil showed typical ER properties. The conductivity of PAPVA and PAPVA/PVB particle was meas-ured using 2-probe method.
