Rheology of Microcapsule Prepared via In-situ Polymerization

The capsule size and final slurries de-pended on the surfactant as an emulsifier. In microcapsule fabrication, melamine-formaldehyde (MF) microcapsule with liquid core and solid shell had been prepared via in-situ polymerization within the droplets of an oil-in-water emulsion using several surfactants. Blue dye dissolved in polytetrachloroethydene (TCE) solutions were contained in the liquid core. Rheological tests were carried out each final capsule slurriy to investigate the role of surfactant. In addition, the final capsule pow-ders showed characteristic morphology respec-tively.
