CAFE:CORBA-BASED FRAMWORK FOR DISTRIBUTED MULTIMEDIA APPLICATIONS

The advances of networks and computing power result in that distirbuted multimedia applications are more widely used. But, distirbuted multimedia application is very difficult to develop and maintain because of heterogeneous platform, diverse of software language and network protocols. So, application developers need more time and effort. Especially, because most distirbuted multimedia applications akr developed for special environment, interperability between applications is very difficulty. To solve this problem, we have developed CORBA-based framework for distributed multimedia application called CAFE. CAFE consist of Collaboration Service, Enhanced Event Service, and Communication Service. CAFE helps multimedia developers to develop distirbuted multimedia applications easily. Also, bacause CAFE is based on CORBA environments, developer can be provided with various CORBA services and merits based on CORBA features.
