Management of ICA Stenosis caused by Cavernous Sinus Meningioma
초록
Cavernous sinus (CS) meningiomas originate from the parasellar region and are complex and rare lesions with treatment challenges and controversy, due to surgeons’ unfamiliarity with intracavernous sinus operation. The main symptoms are facial pain or numbness, proptosis, diplopia, visual disturbances and hormonal change. We present the case of a 75-yr-old woman with 6 month of progressive narrowing ICA by CS meningioma.Initially the patient visited the emergency room due to sudden left hemiparesis. MR scans showed acute ischemic lesions in right pontine infarction and also revealed CS meningioma involving lateral wall of left cavernous sinus, left anterior clinoid process, suprasellar region, prepontine cistern, tentorial ridge and left orbital apex, with encasement of left cavernous ICA. We thought that CS meningioma was incidental findings and that the tumor did not cause the perfusion delay of Lt ICA territory.
