ON THE FREE-STREAM PRESERVATION OF HIGH-ORDER FLUX RECONSTRUCTION SCHEMES FOR CURVED PYRAMID ELEMENTS

The present paper deals with the free-stream preservation of ?ux reconstruction (FR) methods for curved pyramid elements. For ef?cient computation, FR schemes can normally be implemented in reference space via Jacobian matrix. The metic terms in Jacobian may yields aliasing errors especially around highly curved element. Furthermore, there are additional dif?culties for pyramid element to satisfy free-stream preservation due to the rational basis function of non-af?ne pyramid element. In this study, FR schemes are implemented in both reference and physical spaces. Numerical experiments of linear wave equation was undertaken to assess the satisfaction of free-stream preservation for linear and curved pyramid grids. The results indicate that FR formulation in physical space preserves the free-stream ?ow for curved pyramid element.
