Environmental Life Cycle Assessment of Water Treatment System
초록
Life cycle assessment (LCA) on water treatment system including water, wastewater and sludge system was performed to estimate environmental loads such as energy, carbon dioxide (CO2 ) emission, BOD and COD. As representative processes for estimating, the most typical and widely used processes were selected. Generally, the life cycle of actual treatment facilities is consisted of three stages, construction, operation and demolition. In this study, environmental loads produced from the life cycle steps of currently used unit treatment processes, were calculated by inventory analysis of input materials and energy. It was possible to simulate the environmental loads induced from various types of complex treatment system as well as to trace a dominant cause of loads in individual treatment process.
