Soft conducting materials for peripheral nerve interfaces

초록

A neural interface is a direct communication system between a biotic nerve tissue and an electrical device. Although the interface are consisted with many parts, such as, electrical sensors and stimulators, signal processors, power supplies, and so on, one of the most essential components should be the biotic - abiotic interface material, which actually governs the quality of signals from our nervous system. In this presentation, we will discuss materials considerations, particularly, for a peripheral nerve interface. Furthermore, several soft electronic materials including conducting polymers and carbon nanotubes, will be compared for the efficiency of action potential transmission.
