Self sacrifical hollow Fe doped CoP with phosphorus vacanices electrocatalyst for overall water splitting

초록

Herein, we developed a facile synthesis of a hollow Fe doped CoP with abundant phosphorus defect. The obtained catalyst shows extremely low ovepotentials of 300 and 143 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm-2, also a low tafel slope of 48.2 and 91.6 mV dec-1 in alkaline electrolyzer. Also, the catalysts for both anode and cathode in a two-electrode symmetric cell system exhibit a low cell voltage of 1.63 V to afford a current density of 10 mA cm-2, and they also show great stability after a continuous operation for 100 h. such outstanding performance could be attributed to the hollow structure, hetero atom doping and phosphorus defect, which offers to exposure active sites, modify adsorption energy of intermediates for reaction and change the surface electronic structure of catalyst, thereby enhancing activity for water electrolysis.
