Effect of Crystal Phase on Mechanical properties of ZrO2 on SUS 304 by aerosol deposition
초록
Zirconia shows various mechanical properties depending on crystal structure. Pure ZrO2 generally has a monoclinic phase at room temperature. When Y2O3 was doped into ZrO2, depending on the amount of doping ZrO2 shows the different phases. 3 and 8 mol% Y2O3 doped ZrO2 showed tetragonal and cubic phase, respectively. Aerosol deposition (AD) technique is a room-temperature process based on shockloading solidification resulting from the impact of fine particles on a substrate. It was known that this strong impact yielded the nanosized grain and crystal structures of the particles were a little changed. In this work, Zirconia coating was formed on SUS 304 by AD using three kinds of ZrO2 with different phases. Coating layers showed dense structure and had ~10µm thickness. Crystal structure films were analyzed with X-ray diffraction and vickers hardness was measured.
