초록

A study of current and future prospect in research and development of SnO2 based sensors. The sensing mechanis is discussed on the basis of different adsorption phenomenon like physisorption, chemisorption, surface reaction, catalytic reaction, grain boundary reaction and bulk reaction etc. The influence of the contact geometry and crystallinity on the sensor response signal is outlined. A brief summary of the current status of sensor research development with emphasis on ceramic, thick-film sensors based on crystalline, polycrystalline and nanocrystalline SnO2. The three aspects are mentioned in the outline which are expected to lead to significantly improved performances of future sensors: the improved selectivity and stability through the better control of the structures and drift compensation through the pattern.
