Recent Development of Ocean Energy in Korea

초록

South Korea is surrounded by ocean except the north where bordering with North Korea. The west coast is characterized as high tidal difference of 9.72m having great potential for tidal stream power and tidal power generation. Also having many islands with uneven sea floor in the southern region, there are numbers of promising and suitable tidal current power locations. The paper introduces the ongoing and future projects on ocean renewable energy development in Korea.
