초록

A classification method of stern wave resistance to estimate the effect of aft body shape on ship resistance is developed. Then, the model tests for the typical bottom profile forms are performed to verify the method and to get some data for the relation between wave resistance and the hull form of aft body. As a result, the variation of the characteristics and mechanism of the stern wave according to the change of stern shape is explained by the results of the model tests. Also, a numerical computation is adopted for the simulation of flow phenomena around the designed hull forms. The calculation results for the resistance and flow characteristic of a ship hull are compared with those from the model tests.
