BISAgent: Collaborative Web Browsing through Sharing of Bookmark Information

Recently as concerns of Web are spreading widely , the volume of information is increasing exponentially. Users are overwhelmed by this information overload problem. Indeed, the problem information retrieval system enhanced Web environment and personal adaptive Web environment for individuals have been investigated. This paper present that BISAgent(Bookmark information sharing agent system) can support users to search information efficiently under information overload circumstance. BISAgent shares bookmark information inserted by each user and recommend users by using collaborative filtering. For experiment, this system is compared with conventional web search engine, such as Yahoo, Lycos, and Altavista in respect of user satisfaction. And ranking strategy of BISAgent is evaluated by means of comparing random-selected results and recommendation of BISAgent
