초록
The purpose of this study was to exploratively assess Korean urban-dwelling adults' AI ethical awareness and to examine gender differences and the gender × age group interaction effect for lifelong education tasks. An online survey of 328 Korean adults aged 20 and older was conducted in September–October 2025. The main findings are as follows. First, the overall mean of AI ethical awareness was M = 3.28 (SD = 0.354) on a 5-point scale, with substantial variation across the eight subcategories: higher levels in transparency and explainability, employment, and accountability; lower levels in non-discrimination, stability and reliability, and robot rights. Second, no significant gender differences were found in the overall score (t = 1.52, p = .130, d = 0.17), although males scored higher in stability and reliability (t = 2.21, p = .028, d = 0.27). Third, the gender × age group interaction was not statistically significant in any subcategory. Supplementary analysis, however, revealed a medium-sized gender difference among adults in their 20s (d = 0.62). Based on these findings, this study tentatively positions AI ethical awareness as a malleable competency, and discusses age-differentiated approaches and a cyclical experience–reflection–practice design for adult AI ethics education.
