초록
Electiricity generation power plants located along the coast and estuaries use once-through cooling system. Seawater is brought into the plant, passed by the condenser once, and is discharged. Phytoplankton is saffected during the process. This is characterized as entrainment (where small aquatic organisms are carried byt he cooling water into the power plant and assumed being influencec by heat, turbulence, and chemicals). We estimated the entrainment effect on phyotplankton as well as phytoplankton recovery after passing through the cooling system using pulse amplitude modulated flurometry at Wolsong coastal nuclear power plant.
