A Study on design of GNSS SSV receiver for GEO satellites
초록
Precise positioning and attitude information of satellites is a key element for their space mission operations, in particular for Geo-stationary Earth Orbit (GEO) and Inclined Geo-Synchronous Orbit (IGSO) satellites. The current state of art technology for regular precise positioning of GEO and IGSO satellites utilizes telescopes, radars, radio frequency signals of ground monitoring stations. However, their positioning accuracy is about two kilometers, which requires a regular update of position and attitude control so that the life cycle of satellites is inevitably highly affected. The use of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver together with Orbit Determination (OD) technology is proposed for an efficient solution for this. The accuracy requirement of the OD of GEO satellites for their high performance service is about 150 meters. This paper presents the analysis on GNSS signal environment for GNSS receivers on a GEO satellite. A simulation result in terms of Global Positioning System (GPS) and Galileo satellite visibility as well as receiving signal sensitivity of a GNSS receiver on a GEO satellite is included.
