초록

This paper presents a single loop continuous-rate CDR with unrestricted frequency acquisition. A FD (Frequency detector) controller and a mode switch detect when the output frequency of the VCO (Voltage-controlled oscillator) is lower than the target frequency to acquire frequency with a short acquisition time, and the frequency detection range is unrestricted within the range of the VCO. We also propose a lock detector which performs a continuous rate function. The simulation result is shown that the proposed CDR acquires the frequency of input data from 8 Gbps to 26 Gbps.
