Design of an Autonomous Vehicle and Safety System for Unmanned Services

초록

This paper introduces an implementation example of autonomous unmanned vehicle that is designed for delivery services. The hardware configuration such as the robot platform, power system, and various sensors as well as its data communication system are presented. The path planning algorithms and their priority with a special emphasis on the driving safety are described in details. Finally, experimental test results, obtained by running the vehicle in the proving ground, are included to show that the designed autonomous unmanned vehicle is somehow feasible for unmanned delivery services.
